India : 60 years Older or Younger!

Tomorrow we are going to celebrate India's 60th Independence Day. India has changed a lot in past 60 years of independence. I'm not able to decide whether India has turned 60 years older or younger. Patriotism has taken a new form in this era. The new generation expresses it's respect towards nation on this day by forwarding messages, scrapping pals and wishing Happy Independence to each other. It seems India has turned 60 years younger. But there is another side of the story... the same internet savvy young generation neglects India on the other days and feels ashamed of being an Indian because it's corrupted, dirty, bursting with population, full of people living in abject poverty, mismanaged, and so on. Their attitude towards India gives a feeling that they have lost hope about our country and there I feel that India has become 60 years older.

there will always be people who feel bad about being an Indian because of all the things that are wrong with this country.....but there will always be people like us who feel proud and privileged to be an India in spite of all the short comings.

my message to all the haters...... it is easy to see what are the problems and what is wrong....but for a few of us (hoping for a lot of us) it is always easier to see what all we have achieved and where we have come and where we are going despite of all the problems.

It sounds nice when one says that he is patriotic and he loves his motherland - all of us do that at times. but then as we all know "actions speak louder than words" and it is high time we gave back something to this couintry!!! one may feel that he isn't in a position to do something like that now and that he would do so once he's settled in life. the fact is that each and every one of us can do wonders (though the magnitudes of what we do might be different) - it is'"NOW OR NEVER".
